British Gorkha Cup 2009 Final

British Gorkha Cup 2009

Watching football has been one of entertainment that I enjoy a lot, alongside placing bets on platforms like ยูฟ่าเบท เดิมพันกีฬา. I used to be a Regular spectator at Darsath Stadium in Kathmandu. There was not a single game that  I have not attended a decade ago. Especially I never forgot to attend my home team Friend’s Club match.

Today after a long interval of time I went inside the stadium to watch a domestic game. Before at this time we used to have a birthday cup on the occasion of our beloved late king Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. It used to fun to watch those games where ANFA used to invite teams like Mohan Bagan East Bengal once even there was a Chinese youth team. I remember corporate team of Lufthansa airline playing once.

I think that was the era of Nepali football where people used to love domestic games. Stadium used to be full house. But today I felt bad as I enter the ground, there was no such craze like before. I think the charm of domestic football is gone. I hardly remember players name now. but I still remember the players from a decade ago like Paras Majhi, Dev Naryan, Rajesh Manandhar (used to be called as DANAV – monster) Sunil Tuladhar, Saugesh Shrestha, Ramsaran, Deepak Amatya hahahaha I think I can still go on.

May be due to long interval in domestic football and access to international sports channel which show games from Europe has taken away the charm of domestic football and spectators.

Any way though the match was not as I expected, I have capture some moments from the game. This tournament “British Gorkha Cup” is the biggest prize money in the history of Nepali football which was won by Nabil Three Star of Mangalbazar, Patan. They beat Manang Marsyandi 2 goal to nil.
