It’s been a while I had any photography trip. Today 18th December 2019, I planned to go to ranikot, Bhaktapur with my friends. Did some research on google maps and thought it would be a perfect place to view mountain range during the sunrise.
We planned to reach there before sunrise and look for a location to capture the pictures. Me, Jayesh dai, Samir dai, Akash and Binod met at 5 o clock and headed to wards Bhaktapur.
Ranikot lies beyond Pilot baba ashram. The road condition is good, last 3 kilometer toward the ranikot is off drive. We reach there at 6 am, it was still dark. We walked for 10 minutes to the top of the hill, we could not find a good location as there were big trees.
At the hill top there is Panorama View Tower Resort. We planned to sneak inside the resort premises but the door was close. So we called the number mention on the board. Mr. P.P Thulung, Managning Director was happy to receive us.
We gave him brief introduction and why we were so early there. He offered us a hot black tea and we roam around the garden. The weather was not as I expected. It was freezing cold, frost all over the garden, frozen water in the tanks and worst hazy weather. the sky were clear and blue but due to haze mountains were not clear. We still manage to capture some picture.
From this place there are off road towards Lakuri Bhanjyag and Panauti city. Pulchowki hill is just behind the hill top. We can see Kathmandu and Bhaktapur city from this place. It’s a wonderful place to spend a night with friends and family and enjoy the nature.
