A trip for a Sunrise view from the west hill of Kathmandu Dahachowk

It’s been quite a while since I have done any nature photography. This weekend called up a few friends to join me for an early morning photography trip to a hill in the west of Kathmandu known as Dahachok.

This hill area is famous for Kalu Pande samadhi. Kalu Pande is a great warrior of the Gorkha arm who fought for the Gorkha royals who were fighting with the neighboring state for expansion which led to the current borders of the Nepal kingdom.

The other thing is Switzerland park which is a popular picnic destination among Kathmandu valley people.
There is a pilgrimage site known as Indradaha too which has a direct link to yeyaa also known as Indra Jatra of Kathmandu city.

A few years back when I visited this place it was just a hill with Kalu Pande samadhi but now in 2 years, it has changed its landscape with hotels and resorts.

Today we planned to capture the sunrise and first rays over the mountain of Ganesh Himal and Himalchuli and get some glimpses of the Annapurna range.

We reach the destination at 6 am. It was still dark. As we reach, it was the time when the colors of the sky were changing. A perfect twilight zone. It’s the moment that makes you so refreshed early morning.
After waiting for some time before the sun came to the horizon, you can see the first rays kissing the tip of Mount Himalchuli.

Check the picture and make a plan for an early morning trip to this place.
