I kept the right ones out
And let the wrong ones in
Had an angel of mercy
To see me through all my sins
There were times in my life
When I was goin’ insane
Tryin’ to walk through the pain
And when I lost my grip
And I hit the floor
Yeah, I thought I could leave
But couldn’t get out the door
I was so sick n’ tired
Of livin’ a lie
I was wishing that I would die
It’s amazing
With the blink of an eye
You finally see the light
It’s amazing
That when the moment arrives
You know you’ll be alright
It’s amazing
And I’m saying a prayer
For the desperate hearts tonight
That one last shot’s a Permanent Vacation
And a how high can you fly with broken wings
Life’s a journey – not a destination
And I just can’t tell just what tomorrow brings
You have to learn to crawl
Before you learn to walk
But I just couldn’t listen
To all that righteous talk
I was out on the street
Just tryin’ to survive
Scratchin’ to stay alive
“So, from all of us at Aerosmith to all of you out there, wherever you are.
Remember- the light at the end of the tunnel
may be you. Goodnight!
The song ”Amazing” by Aerosmith from their successful album Get a Gripis one of my best song for me. I came to know about this song was through MTV. I used to watch the video. The thing I also noticed on the video was Alicia Silverstone the heartthrob of teenagers at that time, she was so beautiful.
I had no idea what the lyrics says, I used to just hear “it’s amazing” and used to follow that word only and watch her. Later as I was going through to the lyrics, it was WOW to me; some lines from this lyric are so touchy.
“And a how high can you fly with broken wings
Life’s a journey – not a destination
And I just can’t tell just what tomorrow brings
You have to learn to crawl
Before you learn to walk”
Yeah how high can we fly with broken wings? Dose any one has answer to it. It’s important to analyse the lyrics of songs to gain a deeper understanding of them, whether you hear them on the radio as you play games on poker.dk or they’re your favourite band
Yeah our life is a journey which started right away from our birth, and it has no destination, we don’t know when out journey ends and yeah off course no one can predict what tomorrow will bring in our life. It also tells about the basics of life, I don’t think there is a single person in this world who can claim that he started walking without crawling.
I am really impressed by these words in this lyric. If we give a deep thought on above lines of the lyric, it says about the basic of life which we sometime forget and are needed always to live our life.
Every person has their own vision on seeing the things, What I said above are my views, summary on that lyrics, but I want to put what others have to say on this lyrics.
I have copied these below lines from WIKIPEDIA and this is what it says about the lyric.
In the song, Steven Tyler sings about hard times in his life (“I thought I could leave, but couldn’t get out the door”, “I was wishin’ that I would die”, “Scratchin’ to stay alive”) and how he came to grasp reality and escape his hard times (“It’s amazing…with the blink of an eye you finally see the light…when the moment arrives that you know you’ll be alright”) and how he’s “sayin’ a prayer for the desperate hearts tonight”.
The lyrics primarily concern the band’s well-documented struggles with drug and alcohol addiction and their subsequent recovery, the musical renaissance of their career in the nineties being a last chance at what they should have always been – “Got one last shot at permanent vacation, and how high can you fly with broken wings? Life’s a journey, not a destination, and you just can’t tell just what tomorrow brings. You have to learn to crawl, before you learn to walk, but I just couldn’t listen to all that righteous talk, oh yeah – I was out on the streets, tryin’ to survive, scratchin’ to stay alive.”
So, guys if you have your own summary on this lyrics then please post them on my comments section.
