We have seen many changes after the 2nd people’s movement in Nepal; these changes are limited to change of name related to royal family. They took royal out from Nepal Airlines, changed the name of hospitals and schools named after royal family members.
We have been hearing they want to change the Tribhuwan University name too. I found one institute which is under Tribhuwan University, but someone has changed its name. Do you think it is right? It shows that there is no law and order in our country. It shows the institute administration have no power or they are not aware of such activities which show there is no rules and regulation in the institute.
Do every field need to be politicalized; Do they need to have political influence? Do people have rights to stay neutral towards politics?
One thing I never understood is the influence of politics everywhere.
Education Field
Our Tribhuwan University and campuses under it are the most affected example of dirty politics.
If I am not wrong then the student unions on campuses and universities are to raise voice and work for the welfare of the students, of that campus or the university. In our country Nepal what are these student unions doing? They are one of those who do most of the strike, shut down not only campus and university but also schools.
I was watching one comedy show on television called “Tarak Meheta Ka Ulta Chasma”. It was showing a story on how the kids utilizing their free time? All the physical games of the kids are taken away by electronic games like computers, internet, psp, ps2 Xbox and mobiles, some with games like OJO at BoomTown even.
Have you seen now a days that the kids playing physical games? You have hardly seen them engage with some physical activities, may be 10 % of total population of kids you can see playing outdoor games.
I met one of my friend’s child he was having few stones, I told him that we used to play seven stones with those kinds of stones and to his surprise he asked me, what is SEVEN STONE? I was shocked he doesn’t know seven stone, and it used to be one of the physical and fun games we used to play.
Remember what we used to play, the games with rhymes. Intumintu London ma hamro bhai paltan ma, yeti yeti pani gange rani beside that choor police used to be simply the best game at that time for me. I hope many of you have forgot the rules of dandibiyo. What you think about Chungi?
What is happening with the holy Bagmati river? We don’t see water flowing. Land over which it used to flow previously has been converted into Public Parks and some of these land has been capture by the so called sukumbasi (people without land and house). It is one of the holy river.
Hey guys in few weeks’ time there is going to be a festival in one of the ancient city of Nepal , Sankhu. This festival is going to be held from 2 – 4 April 2010.
I was really surprised to get an email from one of the organizer Mr. Suresh Pradhan. He requested me to send him some high resolution picture I took when I visited Shankhu on Bajrayogini Jatra. It’s always a pleasure when someone passes your work and asks for your favor. I have given few photographs to him so that he can utilize it to make some brochure and posters for advertisement. I hope this festival will be a great success. It is time for people outside Shankhu to know the cultural heritage of this palace and its history. This is also a holy city where every year millions of people visit to take bath on Shali Nadi. Continue reading »
Right now Nepal government main job is to maintain peace in the country and draft new constitution in time. In every public place meeting the top leaders, members of parliament and ministers have been talking about that they will write down the constitution in time.
In between this there have been many changes, the parliament abolish royal family, made Nepal secular country and many ethnic group started raising voices on what they need.
Anyway we all know about what I mention above. Now let’s talk about the new voice raised by the Communist party of Nepal (Maoist). They want to change the National Flag of Nepal. There have been debates going on about this.
Almost all top political parties of Nepal have their youth wings. Nepali Congress have Tarun Dal, Maoist have YCL and UML have Youth Force. Why these youth wings are there, for political fight? To make strikes? Can’t they be use for some good reasons too?
At early days YCL was used for some community work and they were praised by the people, but later they were extremely used for political fights and strike for which they were even called YOUNG CRIMIAL LEAGUE.
Since few days we have been hearing that some remote district of Nepal like Jajarkot and other neighboring districts of Rukum, Dang, Rolpa and Salyan have been caused by diarrhea epidemic. There are no doctors and medicine. What a shame for us at this era also people are losing life for disease like diarrhea.
