I am a regular visitor to Banglamukhi Temple at Patan. Every time I am there I always see plastic bag laying around the temple premises dumped by people who buy the diyo (traditional butter lamps). It makes the environment of the temple very much polluted and messy. These plastic bags are very small to use for some other purpose beside carrying very small things.
The above picture was published on today’s Kantipur Daily Newspaper and the news says that these ducks were killed because they were effected by Bird Flu. We see in the picture that the healthcare official from the government are wearing a safety dress and killing the ducks. what about the kids who are watching it so closely? won’t they get effected by the Bird Flu?
Who should be blamed if these kids get effected? Hope such things will not happen in future.
Patan Durbar Square is one of the world heritage site in Nepal which is recognized by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest city of Kathmandu valley. It is always a good time going around to these heritage sites with friends. I just wanted to share some of the picture from Patan Durbar Square, Mangalbazar and few photographs taken during Kartik Naach festival which is celebrated every year at this place. There are many temples around this area, the major being the Krishna Mandir temple. Right now many renovation work is going around to maintain the cultural heritage in this area.
I am a common man; I have my own thoughts and have rights to express them in my own way. I am not a person who has knowledge about geo politics but as an educated person the happenings things around my country and the world makes me think about them.
At present there is a big debate going on about Nepal future, how Nepal is going to be divided into different states. One of the proposed states is Awadh.
So what does Awadh means? I got some information about it from Wikipedia which states as follows:
State of Lumbini, Awadh and Tharuwan in red color

I went to Basantapur to capture some moments at day and night time. This is a world heritage site, we have five story palace, Taleju Bhawani Temple, Kumari Ghaar and Hanuman Dhoka. Hippie era’s famous freak street also lies around this area.
While Taking picture at night, I felt something was missing here. This is a world heritage site and we can attract lots of tourist here at night too but that time I did not find a single tourist around.
I wish if the concerns authority of Basantapur Durbar square do something to promote tourist activities at night in this area. I was visualizing how would the Taleju Bhawani Temple and Nine Story Palace looks if they use some Flood lights there, or use some focus light at Gaddi Baithak.
My Pride My Nepal
It was my dream to take some picture of rock band performing and watch the concert in front row. This time I got this opportunity in Kathmandu. I think that Nepal is now opening up for some great rock bands. We saw Bryan Adams last year, there was a rumor that The Scorpions are coming (this news excited me but there is no news after the announcement about it) and next month Kathmandu is going to see Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR). On 15th October there was another event organized by the Silence Festival which tried to expose some underground music scene of Nepal. This event just did not expose Nepalese underground music but it invited one of the pioneers of death metal Vader from Poland.
Taleju Bhawani
Nawami day of Dashai is the time many people in Kathmandu visit Taleju Bhawani situated inside Basantapur Durbar. This is the day when this temple is open whole day for public to worship. Today I wanted to capture some night shots of this temple and around Basantapur. Here are some picture which I took so that many my friends who are abroad and missing Dashai.
Wish you all “Happy Bijaya Dashami”
