I have not been to many museum, but the one at Patan Durbar is worth full to visit once. There are still renovation going inside the palace, which will increase its importance in future. Due to some technical problem, I was not able to capture things kept inside the museum.
Patan Museum is quite well maintained, there are many information on Newar cultural arts and crafts and history. It contains many historical artifacts which have been well preserved. It is one of the main tourist attraction in Kathmandu valley which invites thousands of foreign visitors every month.
Here are some picture of Krishna Mandir taken from inside the Palace and some example of Newar arts and crafts which is still alive in Kathmandu Valley.
I always wanted to have some evening shots of Boudha Nath Stupa. It is one of the World Heritage Site listed by UNESCO. This year on the day of Buddha Jayanti i got this opportunity. Me and my friends Mr. Rukesh Shrestha, Mr. Samir Pradhananga and Mr. Pritush Maharjan were lucky enough to get the perfect place to capture some moments. I would like to thank the person from Sakura Restaurant who allowed us to go to their rooftop so that we can take some shots. It’s really sad that the potential tourist destination like Boudha have time limit for the visitors and devotees to spend time on the stupa, as they were asked to leave the stupa premises after 8 p.m. Me and Samir had some concept to take the picture from the inside premises of the stupa but we could not do it due to this rule. Hope some day we go again and request the guards to get our dream shot.
Seems like traveling is going to be my passion now, as I love doing photography it always takes me to new area, new faces and new landscapes; without traveling I cannot get all of them. This time I am in Hanoi, Vietnam for my Clinical placement and I did some city tour right after got my visa on arrival to Vietnam, but I did not find that wow factor in this city. I was in search of new destination just for my photography. I was suggested two places to go Ha Long Bay and Sapa. For this time due to time constraint I chose Ha long Bay. UNESCO has recognized it as a “World Heritage Site”.
I went to Basantapur to capture some moments at day and night time. This is a world heritage site, we have five story palace, Taleju Bhawani Temple, Kumari Ghaar and Hanuman Dhoka. Hippie era’s famous freak street also lies around this area.
While Taking picture at night, I felt something was missing here. This is a world heritage site and we can attract lots of tourist here at night too but that time I did not find a single tourist around.
I wish if the concerns authority of Basantapur Durbar square do something to promote tourist activities at night in this area. I was visualizing how would the Taleju Bhawani Temple and Nine Story Palace looks if they use some Flood lights there, or use some focus light at Gaddi Baithak.
I support Local Empowerment. So, I’m sharing this Everest Base Camp Trek to promote a new way of trekking where trekkers can empower the local service providers like lodges, guides and porters by booking services directly through them. #empoweringthehimalayas #freetriptoeverest
