Every community in world celebrates New Year and each of them have their own style to celebrate. In Nepal we celebrate half a dozen New Year and they all have its own identity. Some new year are celebrated by specific community, some by whole nation and some as an international festival.
Today is our National Calendar new year which is called Bikram Sambat (B.S). In Kathmandu valley city like Thimi and Bhaktapur have their own way to celebrate this new year. You can see more information on it on my old blog about how they celebrate in Thimi.
Here are few pictures from the 1st Baisakah 2071 B.S if time permits I will go tomorrow morning to capture some more pictures. Till then Wish you all Happy New Year 2071 B.S and enjoy the pictures.
Seems like traveling is going to be my passion now, as I love doing photography it always takes me to new area, new faces and new landscapes; without traveling I cannot get all of them. This time I am in Hanoi, Vietnam for my Clinical placement and I did some city tour right after got my visa on arrival to Vietnam, but I did not find that wow factor in this city. I was in search of new destination just for my photography. I was suggested two places to go Ha Long Bay and Sapa. For this time due to time constraint I chose Ha long Bay. UNESCO has recognized it as a “World Heritage Site”.
First of all I would like to wish Happy New Year 2013.
I always wanted to do some street photography at unknown city, Phnom Penh, Combodia turn out to be a perfect place to try some street photography for me. Many People might have different views on street photography, but for me i just tried to capture some moments that i saw while walking around this city.
I have no idea about the norms of street photography, but I love to take picture so that the subject does not notice, but it is hard when you walk around with 50 mm lens. As you see some people just smiled at my camera when they noticed it, but at times they turned their face down or hide, so I felt bad and did not take their pictures. Anyway, enjoy my shots and if you have any suggestion then please let me know. I wanna improve them in my next unknown city tour.
I went to Basantapur to capture some moments at day and night time. This is a world heritage site, we have five story palace, Taleju Bhawani Temple, Kumari Ghaar and Hanuman Dhoka. Hippie era’s famous freak street also lies around this area.
While Taking picture at night, I felt something was missing here. This is a world heritage site and we can attract lots of tourist here at night too but that time I did not find a single tourist around.
I wish if the concerns authority of Basantapur Durbar square do something to promote tourist activities at night in this area. I was visualizing how would the Taleju Bhawani Temple and Nine Story Palace looks if they use some Flood lights there, or use some focus light at Gaddi Baithak.
After a long time, I got an opportunity to watch Nepal’s National Team football. This time in my opinion Nepal faced a strong team. It is a team who played 2010 FIFA world cup in South Africa and they recently got back from Asia Cup 2010.
I thought Nepal will try their best effort to not to concede many goals as they have been doing it in past with strong teams of Asia. This time my thoughts went all wrong. They showed the Nepali fans that they are capable of playing a good game.
After long interval of time, we Nepali football fans got an opportunity to support our National team at our national stadium. Most of the fans were excited to watch and support the national team. It was a 2010 FIFA world Cup Qualifier 2nd League game between Nepal and Oman. The last time I went to support our national team was in SAF Games may be a decade ago. I was excited to see the game and chant for nation team which can be wagered on web venues such as 홈카지노. Continue reading »
