Khokana is a small village near Kathmandu valley, Now it is under Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan city. This is an ancient Newari village where still people have saved their lands for farming. I and my friends planed for a trip to this village to capture some moment of people doing rice plantation.
At least one Saturday in a month me and my friends plan for a photography trip. Sometime it’s some monument inside the Kathmandu valley or some villages near by. Last month we went to Nallu in Lalitpur and a newly established Pathibhara temple there.
In that trip, I could not capture the things that I wanted to, so felt lazy to write a blog on it. But now I felt guilty that at least I should have written a brief travel story on that trip.
This Saturday on 8th April, we had a photo shoot plan of our friends, but due to technical problem we had to cancel it. Since we were already out from home with our cameras, we planed to go to Markhu via Pharping. I had already been to Markhu and Kulekhani dam before, so I had already created some imaginary angle to capture the Indra Sarowar lake.
Holi is festival of colors. Since few years the trend of celebrating the festival is changing. when I was teenager, we hardly used to see girls getting out of house and playing holi. Now a days we see lots of girls getting out of house and playing holi. May be it is a sign of freedom, independence and self confidence.
This week Photowalk Nepal selected Bouddhanath as their photowalk destination. The theme of this week photowalk was Night Photography. Since I had already capture the night photograph of this place last week, I tried to capture some of the picture before the dusk.

There is no doubt that Kathmandu valley is rich in culture, heritage and festivals. Everyday somewhere in the city there is some festival going on. Kathmandu is also known as the city of temples and all these temples hold one festival or another.
Chabahil is one of the old center in Kathmandu with its own history. It is near to Bouddha and Pashupatinath. Besides that, history has it that Princess Charumati, daughter of Emperor Ashoka built a Buddhist bihar here, one of the oldest bihar in town, which is known as Charumati bihar.
