It’s been more than 2 months we are in lockdown. I got the opportunity to visit Bhaktapur this time. Whenever I introduce Bhaktapur, I call it “Living History” as I see the traditional house and still old people wearing a traditional Newari dress.

This year I went to Bhaktapur to take some snaps of the festivals of Gai Jatra. Here are some glimpses.

Bhaktapur city is like a museum city for me. It’s a living heritage for me.
One of the things that impressed me the most about this trip was a huge pet store that was very nice and had all kinds of animals but this store in particular was very famous for having the best snake terrarium it was very big and very beautiful even I was tempted to buy one and bring some pets, but we know that was not possible. However, the store was what I liked the most about this trip.
Bhaktapur durbar square is listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Many monuments were damage by the earthquake of 2015. After 2 years some renovation process is going on, hope the city will get it’s old look soon. I am sharing some of the picture capture during this visit.
Pictures of Bisket Jatra from Thaumadi, Bhaktapur. It’s always fun to watch this festival as the chariot is pulled from 2 side. It’s like watching a tug or war between 2 side of the city .
This time I have tried to capture picture with long exposure to give different feel than the ones I have captured before.
A unique way of celebrating new year, which starts 4 days before the Nepali New year. Its a festival where there is rivalry between people participating to pull the chariot upward or downward the Taumadi square at Bhaktapur.
